Allan E. Trevaskis, M.D.
1920 - 2007

Dr. Trevaskis was born on February 24, 1920, and died on September 26, 2007. Dr. Trevaskis practiced plastic and reconstructive surgery in Allentown, Pennsylvania for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Dr. Trevaskis graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School and trained at the Baltimore General Hospital and Allentown Hospital in general surgery. His training was interrupted for two years of active duty in the United States Army. He then completed a plastic surgery residency with Dr. Kerwin Marcks in Allentown. Following his training in plastic surgery, he joined Dr. Marcks in private practice in Allentown. Both he and Dr. Marcks published multiple articles, many of which revolved around refinements in cleft lip repair.

Dr. Trevaskis belonged to many organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Aesthetic Society and the Association for Surgery of the Hand where he was the first vice president of the new formed organization. Dr. Trevaskis was director of a plastic surgery residency for 20 years and director of the Cleft Palate Clinic for 18 years. He will be remembered as an excellent surgeon, an innovator and technically excellent. He was a gentleman, compassionate and an outstanding mentor and teacher to his residents.

Dr. Trevaskis is survived by his wife Margaret, his two children and two grandchildren.
